The ethyl alcohol is prepared by the fermentation of sugar base from grapes, beet, molasses, grain, or wood. The apparatus is used for distilling depends on the nature of the fermented liquids and the quality of the finished products need. The liquids of distilled point divided in three parts:

  1. The volatile products of the fermentation, from 1 to 12 % of ethyl alcohol, some quantities of the higher alcohols, amounting to 0.05 to 0.7 % of the raw spirit, most part of iso-amyl alcohol and d-amyl alcohol, and some amounts of propyl alcohol, aldehydes, acids, esters, and furfurol.
  2. The large quantities of water.
