1.0 Introduction

Nowadays, many people are using internet to find whatever they want, but not much people know about the proper ways and the advantages of those programs. Now, we have so many features that can be accessed through internet, and those websites are Web 2.0, such as Blogger, Evernote, Google, Slideshare, Wolfram Alpha, and Youtube. Their abilities are so many or can be called multifunction.

2.0 Web 2.0 Apps

Web 2.0 Apps are applications that focuses on interaction, information sharing, collaborations, and user-centered activities. It can be said that it focuses mainly on social interaction. While Web 2.0 focuses on social community like sharing contents the previous version which is, Web 1.0 is more focused on owning contents. Web 2.0 allows people to share their opinions with feedbacks from people all around the world, creating a two-way communication. With Web 2.0 Apps you get to share your knowledge and information, also to learn more. With that being said, a lot of people are posting information regularly and that causes some of those information to overload, making people confused with the variety of information and opinions. Also, with a large number of people using Web 2.0 Apps there are a lot of fake accounts and hackers that commits crime through that. Despite that, Web 2.0 Apps are great because its gives us the opportunity to have the freedom to share our opinions, likes, dislikes, and interests, the ability to learn more and the opportunity to communicate with people from around the world without distance being a problem.

3.1 Blogger (blogger.com)

Blogger (blogger.com) is a website that allows you to post and edit your own writings such as, experiments, observations, personal experiences, share links and post them worldwide. You can insert some pictures into your post on your page. This site allows you to choose your own template to make your blog look the way you want. You can also view other peoples’ blogs. This site can help us study since we can read and search the information we needed. This site offers a few features such as, Earning Tabs, Template Designer, Stats Tab, Google Video, Blogger Buzz, Team Blogging, Blogging by Phone, Google+, Picasa Web Albums, and Blogger Widgets. There are two examples of similar Blogger websites which are, Tumblr a website that allows you to post writings, pictures, videos, and audios. Publr is similar to Blogger and Tumblr but in a much simpler appearance.

3.2 Evernote (evernote.com)

Evernote is a place to save all your important documents and share it to your other devices by sync. It’s not only available from online website, it’s also available via application in your gadgets. To use this website or application, you should have an account first by sign up using your e-mail or if you have an account, all you have to do is sign in. In this web, you also able to take notes or reminder and insert picture in the same document. This web is very useful (specially for student who sometimes forget school works or project), even when it doesn’t has that many special features. The features are the ability to sync all your documents or reminder to every devices you have, insert pictures or attachment in your document, and it provides folders to keep your document nicely and separately. Two example of other websites that have the same function as Evernote are Google Keep and OneNote.

3.3 Google (google.com)

Google is a multi-fuction website that can be used to search and find anything that is exist on the internet or worldwide. It also can be used to find the other applications or websites, to know about their informations, and everything. Google has so many features as well such as google drive, google docs, google mail, and much more. Each feature has its own ability/function. Example google mail or gmail is used to send mails. Besides of it, we also can find pictures and video through google, and we are able to set the time, date, quality, and the size of pictures or video that we wanted to search.

3.4 Slideshare (slideshare.net)

Slideshare allows us to upload our presentation about academics, studies, economic, business and many more. We can also find informations that we wanted to know on Slideshare. The features are so many, such as, adding pictures to our presentations, interesting backgrounds, and animations. It can be said as online power point (the application to create presentation). People are able to put their comments, follow/subscribe others presentations, to give a like, to communicate with them online as well.

3.5 Wolfram Alpha (wolframalpha.com)

WolframAlpha is an answer engine and the result is more focused and specific. All you have to do is type in the keyword that you want to look for in the search box on the middle of the screen. WolframAlpha has many different and useful features for either students or teachers. As a student, we could use WolframAlpha to search fastly and specifically information for our report or essay. Here’s the features that the website provide for free and general use: Mathematics, Statistics, Computation, Science, Biology, Health, Socioeconomics, Culture, Algorithms, and Equations. From all the features that it provide, we could conclude that the WolframAlpha is a much better answer engine than Google or Yahoo!. I could only found one website that has similar function with WolframAlpha, which is Answers.com

3.6 YouTube (youtube.com)

YouTube is a website that allows you to connect with others (internationally) through videos. With Adobe Flash Video and HTML5 technology this site allows you to upload videos from your computer or make videos directly from the site and post it internationally. You are able to see various video contents such as, video clips, TV clips, music videos, video blogging, short original videos, and educational videos, and share them to your friends. It includes some features such as Charts, Create, Editor, Creative Commons, Annotations, Caption and Subtitles, Watch Later, Quite Tube, Live, Stabilize Your Video, Creator’s Corner, Tube Radio, Feather Mode, Audio Swap, YouTube Gadget, etc. You can also put comments on other peoples’ videos and follow their video updates by subscribing their account. It can be easier to learn through YouTube because there are a lot of topics with some visuals and people make it in a very creative way. YouTube is the biggest video sharing website, but it is not the only video sharing website. There are similar websites, here are two examples: Vimeo a video sharing websitethat has a lot of creative short films and mainly visited by filmmakers and enthusiasts. Also, Keek a video sharing website where it provides short period videos (no more than 30 seconds) and it’s mostly used to share status updates in video form.

4.0 Conclusion

Based on our group research, we conclude that as a student we use Web 2.0 Applications or Websites really often. We use it for both our study life and social life. These websites really help us a lot, specially to make our study life easier in many different ways. We discuss together to determine which web that we think is the most useful from a student point of view. We finally reach an agreement and we think from all the websites that we research, the most useful one is Google. In our opinion, Google is the key to every single subject that we learn; we could not finish this assessment without Google. Even when the WolframAlpha provides more specific and accurate informations than Google, Google still gives you wider information and much more sources than the WolframAlpha. The result from the WolframAlpha only comes from them, while the Google suggest you websites that give you the informations that you looking for (even when random websites will appear). Not only that, Google also has much more features that we could use than the WolframAlpha.
